About the album

Heartbreak Weather is a breakup album that refuses to sulk. Niall Horan wrote it from both sides of the story and from the view of friends watching it happen, and he leaned on some unexpected influences to get there: Bruce Springsteen, Arctic Monkeys and The Weeknd all fed into the songs he recorded between October 2018 and January 2020.

"Nice to Meet Ya" was the lead single, a strutting, guitar-driven tune he took to Saturday Night Live and the MTV Europe Music Awards. "Put a Little Love on Me" is the big piano ballad, "No Judgement" has an easy, late-summer swing, and "Black and White" is a sweet, wedding-ready ballad. AllMusic found the songs more full-blooded and energetic than the average breakup album.

For a record about heartbreak, it's a remarkably cheerful forecast. Bring a light jacket, just in case.
