Michael Jackson's 1991 album Dangerous as a limited 2LP set on coloured vinyl, with "Black or White," "Remember the Time" and "Jam."
This limited edition 2LP set puts Dangerous on coloured vinyl, pressed in the EU. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, stayed there four weeks and has sold 32 million copies worldwide.
After Bad, Michael Jackson wanted to show he could do it on his own terms. He parted ways with Quincy Jones, took the producer's chair himself alongside Teddy Riley, Bill Bottrell and Bruce Swedien, and spent more than two years recording. The project started life as a greatest hits set with a few new songs, and grew into his most ambitious album, mixing pop, R&B, hip hop, gospel, funk and rock with a harder, more socially conscious edge.
Riley brought the new jack swing, and it hits hardest on "Jam," with a rap from Heavy D, "Remember the Time" and "In the Closet." Bottrell helped shape "Black or White," Slash turns up on guitar, and "Give In to Me" becomes a full-blown rock ballad. "Heal the World" and "Will You Be There" go big on gospel and strings, and the title track closes on a clatter of industrial funk.
It won the Grammy for Best Engineered Album and two American Music Awards, and critics now rank it his most artistically ambitious work. Nine singles came off it over two years, which is roughly the pace at which we reorder it.
