Toronto-born composer Howard Shore's sweeping score for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, with "Evenstar," "Forth Eorlingas" and Emilíana Torrini's "Gollum's Song."
Shore's music for The Two Towers expands his Lord of the Rings world with the stirring Rohan theme, Helm's Deep's battle music and some of the most beautiful passages in film music.
Performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Voices, the score introduces the Hardanger fiddle-led theme for Rohan and the eerie music of the Ents, alongside Isabel Bayrakdarian's "Evenstar."
"The Riders of Rohan" is noble and grand, "Evenstar" is ethereal, "Forth Eorlingas" charges into battle, "Isengard Unleashed" thunders, and Emilíana Torrini's "Gollum's Song" is haunting.
Best enjoyed loudly, with second breakfast within reach.
