Khruangbin's 2024 album A La Sala, a return to the trio's warm, intimate living-room grooves: "May Ninth," "Pon Pón" and "A Love International."
A La Sala ("to the living room") brings Khruangbin back to the stripped-down, hypnotic three-piece sound that first won them fans around the world.
After years of collaborations and globe-trotting influences, Laura Lee, Mark Speer and DJ Johnson went back to basics for their fourth album, recording as a tight trio. The title comes from Laura Lee calling her family together as a child: "a la sala!"
"May Ninth" is a gentle, dreamy single, "Pon Pón" bounces with Latin-tinged groove, and "A Love International" and "Fifteen Fifty-Three" glide on Mark Speer's liquid guitar and Laura Lee's melodic bass. Pure relaxation.
