Why you'll love it

Teenage Dream made history as the first album by a woman to send five singles to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, a candy-coloured pop blockbuster.

About the album

Working with Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Benny Blanco and Stargate, Perry blended pop, disco, house and rock into bright, hook-stuffed songs about young love, partying and self-belief.

The title track is a perfect, nostalgic rush, "California Gurls" with Snoop Dogg is sunny and silly, "Firework" is an empowering anthem, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" is a riot, and "The One That Got Away" is wistful.

Disco, house and rock, wrapped in very bright paper. Singalongs, we're afraid, are compulsory.
