About the album

Jimi Hendrix produced Electric Ladyland himself, and it's the most ambitious record of his career: a sprawling double album that moves from tight rock singles to long blues jams and psychedelic sound paintings, with guests including Steve Winwood, Jack Casady, Al Kooper and Buddy Miles.

"Crosstown Traffic" is a punchy rocker, the 15-minute "Voodoo Chile" is a late-night blues jam for the ages, "1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)" is a dreamy, oceanic epic, and "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" is one of the most famous guitar riffs ever played.
