Can's dreamy 1973 krautrock masterpiece Future Days, their last album with Damo Suzuki: "Future Days," "Spray," "Moonshake" and the 20-minute "Bel Air." Limited edition on gold vinyl.
Future Days is Can at their most beautiful and atmospheric, a hugely influential record that anticipated ambient music and inspired Radiohead and countless others.
Cologne's Can were pioneers of krautrock, building hypnotic, improvised grooves around Jaki Liebezeit's endlessly inventive drumming. Future Days took their sound somewhere new: lighter, more spacious and more richly produced than anything they'd done before, with Damo Suzuki's voice floating in the mix.
The title track drifts like a warm summer afternoon, "Spray" is loose and exploratory, "Moonshake" is a short, funky pop gem, and side two's "Bel Air" is a 20-minute journey. One biographer called it the band's "most weightless achievement."
