Fall Out Boy's 2003 debut Take This to Your Grave on limited edition silver vinyl, pressed for Fueled By Ramen's 25th anniversary.
This limited silver vinyl pressing marks Fueled By Ramen's 25th anniversary and comes with a printed inner sleeve of lyrics and credits. Rolling Stone placed the album No. 5 on its 50 Greatest Pop-Punk Albums.
Fueled By Ramen was the smallest of the labels chasing Fall Out Boy, and it got them anyway. John Janick heard an early song online and cold-called the band's apartment, talking to Patrick Stump and then Pete Wentz for an hour, and Island Records stepped in with an unusual deal, funding the indie debut with an eye on the band's next record.
Sean O'Keefe recorded most of it at Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, seven songs in nine days, with three more brought over from the demo. Wentz took the lyrics very seriously, and every line went through several drafts before it reached Stump's microphone. Out came "Grand Theft Autumn / Where Is Your Boy," "Saturday," "Dead on Arrival" and "Chicago Is So Two Years Ago," with Justin of Motion City Soundtrack and Jeff Warren of Knockout dropping in as guests.
Alternative Press called it a magical, deceptively smart pop-punk masterpiece, and it became a blueprint for the 2000s scene. Money ran so short during the sessions that the band asked the studio to swap their free soda for peanut butter and jelly, an early sign of the sound judgement to come.
