About the album

Chet Baker was already a cool-jazz trumpet star when he started singing, and his soft, tender, almost whispered vocals proved just as captivating. Recorded for Pacific Jazz in the mid-50s, these standards pair his voice with lyrical trumpet solos and a light, swinging rhythm section.

"My Funny Valentine" became his signature song, "Time After Time" and "But Not for Me" are warm and swinging, and "I Fall in Love Too Easily" is achingly gentle. Perfect late-night listening.
