About the album

Watch your backs, Norah Jones and Diana Krall. There's a potential new queen of smoother-than-smooth jazz-pop storming the gates.

Young Icelandic singer and "reality"-TV grad Laufey (she was on Iceland's Got Talent and The Voice Iceland but, hey, there's only so much population to go around out there in the North Atlantic) made serious inroads towards breakout mainstream success with her second album proper, Bewitched, in 2023. So serious, in fact, that her label AWAL decided the following year to reissue the record on blue vinyl as Bewitched: The Goddess Edition with four extra tracks, including new single "Goddess," as a double-LP set featuring a greatly expanded lyric booklet and ... wait for it ... a Laufey board game. That's right: you can entertain yourself with the Laufey version of Snakes and Ladders while you swoon to her cover of "It Could Happen to You," and does it get any better than that, really?
