![Caroline Polachek: Desire, I Want to Turn Into You [PERPETUAL NOVICE]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/60034232/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-caroline-polachek-desire-i-want-to-turn.jpg)
Caroline Polachek's dazzling 2023 album Desire, I Want to Turn Into You: "Welcome to My Island," "Bunny Is a Rider," "Sunset" and "Billions."
Desire, I Want to Turn Into You was one of the most acclaimed albums of 2023, an inventive, joyous art-pop record showcasing Polachek's astonishing voice.
Produced mostly with Danny L Harle, the album roams from flamenco guitar and bagpipes to trip hop, breakbeats and lush synth-pop, all held together by Polachek's acrobatic, soaring vocals.
"Welcome to My Island" opens with a wordless wail, "Bunny Is a Rider" is slinky and playful, "Sunset" sways with Spanish guitar, "Blood and Butter" includes bagpipes, and "Billions" closes with a choir.
Desire, very much fulfilled.
