![Cage the Elephant: Cage the Elephant [JIVE / RCA]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33149394/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-cage-the-elephant-cage-the-elephant-jive.jpg)
Kentucky rockers Cage the Elephant's 2008 debut: "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked," "Back Against the Wall" and "In One Ear."
Cage the Elephant's debut is a scrappy, blues-punk blast that broke the band through on the strength of "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked."
Produced by Jay Joyce, the Bowling Green band's first album mixes garage rock, funk, blues and punk energy with Matt Shultz's wiry, talk-sung vocals and wild live spirit.
"Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" is a bluesy, wry classic, "Back Against the Wall" surges, "In One Ear" is a cheeky rocker, and "Free Love" is ragged fun.
Matt Shultz talk-sings, the band rattles along, and Kentucky sounds very much awake.
