About the album

The third Austin Powers film sent Mike Myers' swinging spy back to 1975, so the soundtrack needed some serious groove. It got it: Beyoncé, then still in Destiny's Child, played Foxxy Cleopatra in the film and made her solo debut here with the brassy, funk-soaked "Work It Out." Myers played four roles in the film, Goldmember himself among them.

Dr. Dre remixes the Rolling Stones' "Miss You," Britney Spears teams with Pharrell on the Co-Ed Remix of "Boys," Angie Stone covers "Groove Me," and Earth, Wind & Fire bring "Shining Star." Solange and Devin join Foxxy on "Hey Goldmember," Smash Mouth, Paul Oakenfold and Soul Hooligan keep the party moving, and Susanna Hoffs closes with "Alfie (What's It All About, Austin?)." Susanna Hoffs is also part of Ming Tea, the film's fictional 60s band, on "Daddy Wasn't There," with Myers singing as Austin. Earth, Wind & Fire's "Shining Star" is the genuine 1975 article, which suits a plot that sends Austin back to that very year.

Dr. Evil's "Hard Knock Life" remix is in there too. Please do not ask us for one million dollars off.
