AC/DC's 1977 Bon Scott classic on 180g vinyl, with "Whole Lotta Rosie," "Bad Boy Boogie" and the thundering title track.
This 180g reissue was remastered from the original master tapes by George Marino at Sterling Sound and comes with a printed inner sleeve. Q magazine named it one of the 50 Heaviest Albums of All Time, and "Whole Lotta Rosie" is still a fixture of every AC/DC show.
When George Young asked his little brothers what kind of album they wanted to make, Angus had a simple answer: a lot of guitar riffs. AC/DC came off the road fired up, went back into the studio with Young and Harry Vanda producing, and made the leanest, loudest record of the Bon Scott years.
"Go Down" and "Dog Eat Dog" kick things off at full tilt, "Bad Boy Boogie" and "Problem Child" let Scott play the cheerful delinquent, and the title track turns rock and roll's origin story into a sermon, with Angus soloing like the building's on fire while Malcolm, Mark Evans and Phil Rudd hold the floor steady. "Whole Lotta Rosie" closes the album and has closed a great many nights since.
Biographer Murray Engleheart wrote that this record made AC/DC an album band, and Mutt Lange later told Angus it was the one Vanda and Young record he wished he'd produced himself. It's also the sleeve where Gerard Huerta's famous logo first turned up, which has since appeared on more T-shirts than anyone here has managed to count.
