About the album

Dominic Harrison went home to make his biggest record. Idols took shape over four years in Leeds, a deliberate choice to work close to where he grew up, and he called it "a project with no limitations." The ambition shows: it's the first half of a double album, built around feeling and world-building more than chasing singles.

Matt Schwartz produced it, and the sound reaches toward Britpop, with Oasis, the Verve and Primal Scream in the air alongside My Chemical Romance, David Bowie and Madonna. "Hello Heaven, Hello" opens with a big swing for the fences, "Lovesick Lullaby" and "Zombie" carry the big choruses, and "Idols Pt. I" and "Idols Pt. II" bookend the theme of finding your own worth before looking to anyone else for it. He took it on the road across North America and Europe from August to October 2025.

It's a record about self-reclamation, rock music and masculinity, sung by someone who means every word. In the U.S. it has passed 126,000 equivalent units. He made the whole thing within easy reach of home, which is one way to keep the catering budget sensible.
