Why you'll love it

Geography made the South London guitarist and producer a star, with smooth jazz, funk and hip hop grooves that sound just as good on a Sunday morning as late at night.

About the album

Tom Misch started out making beats and posting guitar covers online from his bedroom in South London, and his debut album, put out on his own Beyond the Groove label, is a joyful, sun-kissed blend of jazz, funk, soul, disco and hip hop.

"Disco Yes" with Poppy Ajudha is irresistible, "It Runs Through Me" brings in De La Soul, "South of the River" is a love letter to his corner of London, "Movie" is a gorgeous slow jam, and his cover of Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" is a treat. Spread over two LPs.
