![The National: High Violet (2LP) [4AD]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33621002/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-the-national-high-violet-2lp-4ad.jpg)
2LP of the National's 2010 album High Violet: "Bloodbuzz Ohio," "Terrible Love," "England" and "Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks."
High Violet was the National's commercial breakthrough, a top-five album in the US, and "Bloodbuzz Ohio" became one of their signature songs. Lush, dramatic and gorgeous.
The National recorded High Violet in their own Brooklyn studio with longtime collaborator Peter Katis, and it's their most expansive record: thick layers of guitar, strings and horns, Bryan Devendorf's driving drums and Matt Berninger's rich, wry baritone.
"Terrible Love" builds into a thrilling crescendo, "Bloodbuzz Ohio" is an anthem, "England" is stunning, and "Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks" became a beloved singalong at their shows. Spread over two LPs.
