![The Lumineers: III (2LP) [DUALTONE]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33627790/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-the-lumineers-iii-2lp-dualtone.jpg)
Lumineers' 2019 third album III on 2LP, a story told in three chapters: "Gloria," "Life in the City," "Leader of the Landslide" and "Donna."
III is the Lumineers' most ambitious record, a cinematic song cycle following three generations of one family, with a companion film by Kevin Phillips.
Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites built III around the fictional Sparks family, arranging the songs into three chapters, each focused on a different family member, with stark piano, stomping drums and Schultz's warm, weathered voice.
"Gloria" is a driving, piano-led single, "Life in the City" is a lovely, wistful highlight, "Leader of the Landslide" is powerful, and "Donna" opens the story with tender simplicity.
