![The Cure: The Head on the Door (180g) [ELEKTRA]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/60583491/1652x1652x2/the-cure-the-head-on-the-door-180g-elektra.jpg)
Pop-savvy and bright, The Cure's 1985 album The Head on the Door on 180g vinyl: "In Between Days," "Close to Me," "A Night Like This" and "Push."
The Head on the Door is where the Cure perfected their mix of gloom and pop, a varied, accessible album with two of their most beloved singles.
With a new, stable lineup including returning bassist Simon Gallup, Robert Smith wrote a kaleidoscopic set ranging from flamenco guitars and Japanese-inspired melodies to dark rock and pure pop.
"In Between Days" is a jangly, joyous classic, "Close to Me" is quirky and breathy, "A Night Like This" soars with saxophone, "Push" builds into a rush, and "Kyoto Song" is eerie and beautiful.
