About the album

Tate McRae grew up dancing in Calgary before she ever thought about singing, and you can hear it all over So Close to What: this is pop built for movement, sharp and slinky and full of attitude. Working with Ryan Tedder, Blake Slatkin, Ilya and co., she landed somewhere between Y2K dance-pop, power pop and sleek R&B.

"It's OK I'm OK," "2 Hands" and the irresistibly sultry "Sports Car" did the damage on the charts, the album went to No. 1 here at home and in the U.S., and the Miss Possessive Tour became her first arena run. Then came the deluxe So Close To What??? and five more songs, led by the Top 5 hit "Tit for Tat." Hometown girl done good.
