![Talking Heads: Fear of Music [SIRE / RHINO]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/67012415/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-talking-heads-fear-of-music-sire-rhino.jpg)
Talking Heads' 1979 art-funk classic Fear of Music, produced with Brian Eno: "Life During Wartime," "I Zimbra," "Cities" and "Heaven."
Fear of Music is a landmark of post-punk and new wave, a darker, funkier step forward that paved the way for Remain in Light.
David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison recorded much of Fear of Music in Weymouth and Frantz's New York loft with Brian Eno, mixing nervy art-rock with African rhythms, disco grooves and twitchy funk. Most song titles are a single, simple word.
"I Zimbra" opens with a polyrhythmic burst inspired by a Dada poem, "Life During Wartime" is a funky classic, "Cities" and "Mind" pulse with energy, and "Heaven" is one of Byrne's most beautiful songs.
