Why you'll love it

Remain in Light routinely appears near the top of lists of the greatest albums ever made. Inspired by Fela Kuti's Afrobeat, it's a dazzling, polyrhythmic groove record like nothing before it.

About the album

Talking Heads and Brian Eno decamped to Compass Point in the Bahamas and built Remain in Light from the ground up: long, interlocking grooves inspired by Fela Kuti and African polyrhythms, layered with funk bass, Adrian Belew's wild guitar and David Byrne's stream-of-consciousness vocals.

"Once in a Lifetime" is one of the most famous songs of the '80s, "Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On)" and "Crosseyed and Painless" are irresistible, and "Houses in Motion" and "The Great Curve" keep the dance floor moving. Visionary, joyous and still ahead of its time.
