About the album

Some greatest hits albums feel like a compromise. This one feels like a jukebox in a perfect roadside diner. It came out in 1978, gathering "The Joker" and thirteen songs from Fly Like an Eagle and Book of Dreams, and it's been in heavy rotation ever since.

"The Joker" lopes along with that famous wolf whistle of a guitar lick, "Fly Like an Eagle" floats on space-rock synths, "Jet Airliner" and "Rock'n Me" are pure seventies FM gold, and "Take the Money and Run," "Swingtown" and "Jungle Love" keep the party going. The 7-inch single versions are used for several of the hits.

It's ready for another forty years of road trips.
