About the album

Shane Boose started posting songs online as a teenager in New York, and by the time he made his debut album as sombr he'd already turned "back to friends" and "undressed" into viral hits. I Barely Know Her is the full-length payoff: big, heart-on-sleeve indie-pop with soaring choruses, chiming guitars and lyrics about longing, breakups and growing up in the city.

He wrote every song himself and produced it with Tony Berg (the man behind Phoebe Bridgers' Punisher), and the result sounds both polished and personal. "12 to 12" and "we never dated" are as catchy as anything on the radio, and the deeper cuts show a songwriter who's only getting started.
