About the album

After the triumph of A Seat at the Table, Solange went home, to the Third Ward and the screwed-down sounds of Houston she grew up on. When I Get Home is the result: hazy, hypnotic and full of hometown pride, with street names and local legends threaded right through it.

The songs drift and loop like a summer evening drive. "Almeda" with Playboi Carti and the Dream is a slow, gleaming celebration of Black identity, "Binz" bounces with a wink, "Stay Flo" and "Down with the Clique" float on silky grooves, and interludes sampling Houston poets and voices tie the whole thing together. Pharrell, Tyler, the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt and Metro Boomin all lend a hand.

Critics loved its fearless, experimental spirit, and it's aged like a fine wine.
