About the album

Tucker Pillsbury made his name as Role Model with glossy alt-pop, but for album No. 2 he went somewhere warmer and more weathered. Kansas Anymore (yes, the title's a Wizard of Oz nod) swaps the sheen for acoustic guitars, pedal steel shading and indie-folk and country colours, and his songwriting has never sounded more lived-in.

"Oh, Gemini," "Deeply Still in Love" and "Look at That Woman" set the tone the first time around. Then came The Longest Goodbye deluxe edition and "Sally, When the Wine Runs Out," a barroom-ready country singalong that took over everybody's feeds and sent Role Model up the charts for the first time. He's toured with Gracie Abrams, he's played Saturday Night Live, and he's got the whole shop singing along.
