About the album

Some of the best records start with no plan at all. Alex O'Connor met the Dutch musician Benny Sings for what was billed as a session without expectations, and a productive 48 hours later they had the bones of an album. The two headed to Amsterdam and finished it in ten days, writing and producing every track together.

It's bedroom pop with a soul and jazz lean and a few dance-floor moves. "Keep It Up" breezes in on a bright piano hook, "Amazing" glides, and "Open a Window" reunites him with Tyler, the Creator, who'd first brought him in for Flower Boy. "One in a Million" got its moment on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and "Making Time" and the title track keep things short and sweet. Joe MacLaren plays bass on several tracks, and Ben Baptie mixed the lot.

The title was in his head before a note was recorded, and it stuck once the songs arrived. It's a fair question, and judging by the charts, quite a lot of people had an answer ready.
