About the album

Five years is a long time in punk, and Rancid spent them touring, warming up as Blink-182's support act and chipping away at new songs between side projects. When ...Honor Is All We Know finally arrived in October 2014, it sounded like four friends who'd never stopped talking: Tim Armstrong, Lars Frederiksen, Matt Freeman and Branden Steineckert, back with Epitaph boss Brett Gurewitz producing.

It's fifteen tight, sharp songs on the LP. "Back Where I Belong" kicks the door in, "Collision Course" and "Evil's My Friend" have the old ska bounce, and the title track started life on Armstrong's Tim Timebomb project. "Face Up" and "Already Dead" are pure street punk, and "Everybody's Sufferin'" is a cover of ska legend Laurel Aitken, their first cover on a full album since the debut. Kevin Bivona adds organ and piano, Mike McColgan joins the gang vocals, and Bob Ludwig mastered it.

The A.V. Club called it a triumph of a band being the best version of itself. It's the sound of a band that never needed to change its recipe and very sensibly didn't.
