Queen's ambitious 1974 second album Queen II on 180g vinyl, with its White and Black sides: "Seven Seas of Rhye," "The March of the Black Queen" and "Ogre Battle."
Queen II is a fan favourite and a prog-tinged, multi-layered fantasy epic, and "Seven Seas of Rhye" gave Queen their first hit single.
Recorded at Trident Studios with Roy Thomas Baker, Queen II is split into a "Side White" led by Brian May and a "Side Black" led by Freddie Mercury, bursting with layered harmonies, guitar orchestrations and dramatic, fantastical storytelling.
"Seven Seas of Rhye" is a thrilling, piano-driven hit, "The March of the Black Queen" is a dazzling mini-opera, "Ogre Battle" rocks hard, and "White Queen (As It Began)" and "Father to Son" are majestic.
