![PJ Harvey: Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea [ISLAND]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/51591447/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-pj-harvey-stories-from-the-city-stories.jpg)
PJ Harvey's Mercury Prize-winning 2000 album Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea: "Good Fortune," "This Is Love," "A Place Called Home" and "This Mess We're In" with Thom Yorke.
Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea won the Mercury Prize, PJ Harvey's most direct and glamorous rock record, inspired by love and New York City.
Harvey wrote much of the album while living in New York, and her songs crackle with romance and urban energy, backed by Mick Harvey and Rob Ellis's punchy, shimmering band.
"Good Fortune" is a jubilant rocker, "This Is Love" is snarling and joyous, "A Place Called Home" is tender, and "This Mess We're In" pairs her with Thom Yorke for a haunting duet.
The Mercury Prize, and PJ Harvey at her most luminous. Stories, all worth telling.
