About the album

A classically trained pianist who fused jazz, soul, gospel, folk and blues, Simone brought fierce intelligence and emotional depth to everything she sang, from showtunes and pop songs to civil rights anthems.

"Ain't Got No, I Got Life" is exuberant, "My Baby Just Cares for Me" swings, her version of "Here Comes the Sun" is radiant, "Suzanne" is spellbinding, and "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free" is an anthem of hope.

Classical training, jazz club soul and a voice that brooks no argument. Sit down for this one.
