Why you'll love it

This is the LP edition of MUNA's 2026 album on Saddest Factory. The follow-up to their breakthrough self-titled record trades bright indie pop for darker synths and club grooves, and it drew generally favourable reviews.

About the album

MUNA came into this one off the biggest stretch of their career. Their self-titled third album and its lead single put them on the Billboard 200 and the UK chart for the first time, they spent the following years opening for Lorde and Taylor Swift, and singer Katie Gavin found time for a folk-leaning solo album, What a Relief, in 2024.

Dancing On The Wall heads the other way, darker in tone and more upbeat at the same time. Naomi McPherson produced every track, Josette Maskin's guitars slice through the synths, and Dan Grech-Marguerat mixed most of it, with Sarab Singh on drums. "It Gets So Hot" arrived first as a teaser in February, the title track and "Eastside Girls" go straight for the dance floor, "So What" and "Wannabeher" carry big pop hooks, and "Party's Over" and "Buzzkiller" bring the last-song-of-the-night feeling. The band said Gavin's quieter solo record pushed the group toward something louder.

They took the album on tour across the fall of 2026. The band themselves described it as a sweaty dance album, so consider this fair warning and dress accordingly.
