Måneskin's 2021 album Teatro d'ira: Vol. I, the Roman rock band's breakthrough with "Zitti e buoni" and "I Wanna Be Your Slave."
This EU pressing comes in a glossy card inner sleeve. Teatro d'ira went to No. 1 in Italy, Sweden and Finland and five times platinum at home.
Rock bands aren't supposed to win song contests, which is exactly why it was such fun when Måneskin did. In the spring of 2021 "Zitti e buoni" took the Sanremo Music Festival and then the Eurovision Song Contest, and four kids from Rome were suddenly the biggest guitar band in Europe.
Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio recorded the album live at Mulino Recording in Acquapendente, producing with Fabrizio Ferraguzzo, and you can hear the room. "Zitti e buoni" is a hard rock call to be yourself, "I Wanna Be Your Slave" struts on a dance-rock groove, "Coraline" is a five-minute gothic slow build, and "Vent'anni" is a big, open-hearted ballad. "Lividi sui gomiti" and "In nome del padre" keep the riffs coming, and "For Your Love" shows off their English side. The whole thing runs under half an hour, eight songs with no filler and no fuss.
A note in the sleeve calls this their second album and the hardest one to make. Judging by the trophy cabinet, the effort was well spent.
