About the album

Before the albums and the acclaim, Mac Miller was a Pittsburgh teenager with a laptop full of beats and a huge, devoted online following. More than 20,000 people tuned in to a live stream just to wait for Best Day Ever to drop, the follow-up to his breakthrough tape K.I.D.S.

Built mostly on production from Pittsburgh's ID Labs, it's sunny, goofy and full of bounce. The title track sets the carefree mood, "Get Up" and "Wear My Hat" are pure summer, and "Oy Vey" and "Down the Rabbit Hole" show off his playful flow. Phonte stops by, and the closing run with "Life Ain't Easy" and "Keep Floatin'" hints at the thoughtful artist to come. Four of the songs got videos, and "Wear My Hat" was made for summer road trips.

Rostrum gave it a remastered commercial issue for its fifth anniversary in 2016, and in 2018 it reached No. 26 on the Billboard 200. Fans downloaded it well over a million times on DatPiff, so this is, technically, the first time many of them have paid for it.
