![Lucy Dacus: Home Video [MATADOR]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/44484222/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-lucy-dacus-home-video-matador.jpg)
Lucy Dacus's acclaimed 2021 album Home Video, a vivid look back at growing up in Richmond: "Hot & Heavy," "Thumbs," "VBS" and "Triple Dog Dare."
Home Video is a beautifully written, coming-of-age album from one third of boygenius, full of sharp, unforgettable details and swelling indie rock.
Dacus revisits her teenage years in Virginia, from church camp and sleepovers to first loves and complicated friendships, with her warm, steady voice and storyteller's eye at the centre.
"Hot & Heavy" is a nostalgic rush, "Thumbs" is a hushed, devastating fan favourite, "VBS" crunches with wry humour, "Brando" bounces, and "Triple Dog Dare" builds to a long, cathartic finale.
A beautifully written coming-of-age album. Home videos rarely sound this good.
