Artpop debuted at number one in the US, and "Applause" became one of Lady Gaga's signature hits. The album has since earned a devoted cult following.
Lady Gaga set out to blend pop music with the world of fine art on her third album, working with producers including Zedd, DJ White Shadow and RedOne, with the iconic Jeff Koons sculpture on the cover. The result is a glittering, high-energy mix of electro-pop, EDM, R&B and dance.
"Applause" is a euphoric anthem, "Do What U Want" is a slinky R&B groove, "G.U.Y." and "Venus" are bold dance-floor fillers, and the closing "Gypsy" is a big, joyful power ballad.
