Justice's 2024 album Hyperdrama as a 2LP set, with Tame Impala on "Neverender" and "One Night/All Night," plus "Generator" and "Incognito."
This 2LP set comes in a glossy gatefold jacket with two printed inner sleeves. "Neverender" with Tame Impala won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Recording, and the album was nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
Justice took more than seven years between studio albums, and Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay came back with a plan: make disco and funk share a record with hard electronic music, and let them fight a bit for attention. Ed Banger and Because Music put it out in April 2024, and the tour that followed ran from Coachella to December 2025.
Most of the sounds came from a PPG Wave 2.2 synthesizer Augé rediscovered while making his solo album. Kevin Parker of Tame Impala turns up twice, on the sleek "Neverender" and on "One Night/All Night," which the duo wanted to sound like a disco version of Parker. "Generator" is pure, pounding Justice, "Incognito" throws out every rule about song structure they knew, and "Saturnine" brings in Miguel. "Dear Alan" is a tribute to French touch hero Alan Braxe, built on a sample of Chris Rainbow's "Dear Brian."
The title came from playing with the word melodrama until "melo" became "ultra" and then "hyper." We tried the same trick with "inventory" and ended up with a very long afternoon.
