![Jalen Ngonda: Come Around and Love Me [DAPTONE]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/60117819/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-jalen-ngonda-come-around-and-love-me-dap.jpg)
Jalen Ngonda's gorgeous 2023 Daptone debut Come Around and Love Me, Motown-inspired soul with a soaring falsetto: "If You Don't Want My Love" and the title track.
Come Around and Love Me is a modern soul gem, with Ngonda's sweet, Smokey Robinson-style falsetto and Daptone's warm, vintage sound making it feel instantly timeless.
The Maryland-born, London-based singer-songwriter crafted eleven heartfelt songs of longing and devotion, recorded with Daptone's in-house players on analogue gear for a rich, classic feel.
"If You Don't Want My Love" is a perfect, aching single, the title track glides on sweet harmonies, "That's All I Wanted from You" grooves, and "Rapture" closes with tender grace.
