About the album

Etta James had already scored R&B hits when Chess Records paired her powerhouse voice with lush strings on her first album, and the result is a timeless blend of blues, jazz standards, doo-wop and soul.

"At Last" is pure magic, "I Just Want to Make Love to You" smoulders, "A Sunday Kind of Love" and "Stormy Weather" are gorgeous, and "All I Could Do Was Cry" is a showstopper. This edition comes with a CD and four bonus tracks.
