About the album

Fiona Apple made The Idler Wheel... (its full title is another poem of her own) with drummer and multi-instrumentalist Charley Drayton, stripping her sound down to piano, inventive percussion and found sounds, and putting her extraordinary voice and wordplay front and centre.

"Every Single Night" is enchanting and strange, "Werewolf" is tender and witty, "Anything We Want" is warm and playful, and "Hot Knife" closes with a joyful, timpani-driven round sung with her sister Maude Maggart.
