![Ethel Cain: Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You [DAUGHTERS OF CAIN / AWAL]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/71374915/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-ethel-cain-willoughby-tucker-ill-always.jpg)
Ethel Cain's acclaimed 2025 second album Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You: "Nettles," "Willoughby's Theme," "Tempest" and "Janie."
Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You is a prequel to Preacher's Daughter and one of the most acclaimed albums of 2025, a slow-burning Southern gothic love story told in widescreen.
Hayden Silas Anhedönia, who records as Ethel Cain, put out her second album on her own Daughters of Cain label, and it's a sweeping prequel to Preacher's Daughter: the story of a first love in small-town Florida, told through slowcore, Americana, shoegaze and cinematic ambient passages.
"Nettles" and "Willoughby's Theme" are gorgeous, "Janie" and "Tempest" unfold slowly and beautifully, and "Radio Towers" and "Dust Bowl" glow. A record to sink into from start to finish.
