About the album

Elvis Presley's run at the top of the charts was so long that it takes four sides to hold thirty of his No. 1 hits. Ernst Mikael Jørgensen and Roger Semon built this collection from the pop charts in the US and the UK for the 25th anniversary of Elvis's death in 2002, and it sent a whole new generation straight back to the King.

Side A is the 1950s explosion: "Heartbreak Hotel," "Hound Dog," "Don't Be Cruel," "Love Me Tender" and "Jailhouse Rock." The early 1960s bring "It's Now Or Never," "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" and "Can't Help Falling In Love," Side D has the late-period triumphs "Suspicious Minds," "In The Ghetto" and "Burning Love," and the JXL remix of "A Little Less Conversation," a No. 1 in more than 20 countries, closes the set.

David Bendeth remixed the stereo-era songs from the original multitracks, and they sound terrific. It's the one Elvis record that settles every argument at once, which is why we keep it near the till.
