![Electric Light Orchestra: Discovery [JET / EPIC / LEGACY]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/75862938/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-electric-light-orchestra-discovery-jet-e.jpg)
Electric Light Orchestra's disco-kissed 1979 No. 1 album Discovery: "Don't Bring Me Down," "Last Train to London," "Shine a Little Love" and "Confusion."
Discovery topped the UK chart and gave ELO some of their biggest hits, Jeff Lynne's lush, Beatles-inspired pop at its sleekest and most danceable.
Recorded at Musicland Studios in Munich, the album blends Jeff Lynne's sumptuous strings and harmonies with disco grooves and gleaming synths, while staying true to ELO's melodic magic.
"Shine a Little Love" sparkles, "Last Train to London" glides on a disco groove, "Confusion" is wistful, "The Diary of Horace Wimp" is whimsical, and "Don't Bring Me Down" stomps with a huge drum loop.
Munich clearly agreed with Jeff Lynne; even the strings learned to dance.
