Disturbed's 2005 third album Ten Thousand Fists as a 2LP set on yellow flame vinyl, with "Stricken," "Guarded" and their cover of "Land Of Confusion."
This 20th anniversary 2LP set comes on yellow flame vinyl. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, shipped around 239,000 copies in its first week and went triple platinum in the US and double platinum in Canada.
David Draiman has a habit of asking crowds to put their fists in the air, and one night he looked out at a sea of them and found an album title. Ten Thousand Fists was the Chicago band's third record, the first with bassist John Moyer, and the first to put their mascot, The Guy, on the cover.
Johnny K produced, for the third and final time, and Draiman pitched it as the brutality of The Sickness married to the melody of Believe. "Guarded" went to radio first as a reminder of where they came from, "Stricken" brought Dan Donegan's guitar solos to the fore, and the title track turned that sea of fists into a chant. Their take on Genesis's "Land Of Confusion" got an animated video directed by Todd McFarlane, and Mike Wengren drives the whole thing like a freight train.
The band dedicated the album to Dimebag Darrell, and it remains one of the cornerstones of 2000s hard rock radio. Yellow flame vinyl is, we're told, the closest thing to pyrotechnics we're allowed to keep in the shop.
