About the album

The pianist and singer from Nanaimo, British Columbia, made late-night jazz sound like something you could put on at dinner without anyone asking what it was. This collection pulls from seven albums, starting with All for You, her 1996 tribute to the Nat King Cole Trio, and running through From This Moment On.

The swing is gentle and the arrangements are immaculate. "Frim Fram Sauce" nods to Cole, "Peel Me a Grape" and "All or Nothing at All" come from Love Scenes, and "Let's Fall in Love" and "I've Got You Under My Skin" from When I Look in Your Eyes. "'S Wonderful" and "The Look of Love" bring the lush strings, "East of the Sun (And West of the Moon)" comes from Live in Paris, and "You Go to My Head" is one of two outtakes from The Look of Love sessions heard here for the first time.

AllMusic called it a superb place to start for anyone new to her, and JazzTimes noted there was value in it even for listeners who already owned the lot. It is, as these things go, the most sophisticated thing you can do with a Tuesday evening and a glass of something.
