![Ella Fitzgerald: Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas (Verve Acoustic Sounds Series) [VERVE]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/39421104/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-ella-fitzgerald-ella-wishes-you-a-swingi.jpg)
Ella Fitzgerald's 1960 holiday classic Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas, arranged by Frank De Vol, in the Verve Acoustic Sounds Series: "Sleigh Ride," "Jingle Bells" and "The Christmas Song."
Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas is one of the most joyful Christmas albums ever made, with the First Lady of Song swinging through the seasonal standards.
Recorded in Los Angeles in 1960 with an orchestra arranged and conducted by Frank De Vol, Ella's Christmas album is bright, bouncy and full of warmth, her flawless voice gliding over brassy, finger-snapping big band charts.
"Sleigh Ride" and "Jingle Bells" are pure fun, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "The Christmas Song" are tender and lovely, and "Let It Snow!" and "Winter Wonderland" swing like crazy. A must for the holiday season.
