Why you'll love it

Saturday Night Wrist has grown into one of the most loved records in the Deftones catalogue, where the crushing riffs and Chino Moreno's dreamiest melodies sit side by side. "Cherry Waves" is a modern classic.

About the album

Deftones spent two years making their fifth album, working with producer Bob Ezrin and later Shaun Lopez, and the result is one of their most adventurous records: the heaviest songs here hit like a truck, while the quiet ones drift off into shoegaze and ambient territory.

"Hole in the Earth" and "Rapture" bring the weight, "Beware" and "Cherry Waves" are pure Deftones romance, "Mein" features System of a Down's Serj Tankian and "Pink Cellphone" brings in Annie Hardy. Fans who discovered the band through "Change" and "Digital Bath" consider this one essential.
