About the album

Two robots, one giant illuminated pyramid and an arena full of people who had no idea what was about to hit them. On 14 June 2007, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo brought their Alive tour home to the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, and the recording captures a show that changed what dance music could look like on stage.

The magic is in the blending. "Television Rules The Nation" collides with "Crescendolls," "Around The World" locks into "Harder Better Faster Stronger," and "Superheroes" folds into "Human After All." They fold in Busta Rhymes' "Touch It," itself built on a "Technologic" sample, and Gabrielle's "Forget About The World," which Daft Punk had remixed. "One More Time" and "Aerodynamic" hit like fireworks, and "Robot Rock" opens the night at full volume, with "Oh Yeah" right behind it.

It's the nearest thing to a greatest hits album the duo ever made, played the way they wanted it heard. The helmets have since been retired, which makes this about the nearest any of us will get to the pyramid without a time machine and a very good ticket agent.
