Clear EcoRecord edition of Coldplay's 2008 No. 1 album Viva la Vida, made from recycled plastic: "Viva la Vida," "Violet Hill," "Lovers in Japan" and "Lost!"
On order
Viva la Vida topped the charts in the US and the UK, its title track became Coldplay's first US No. 1 single, and it won the Grammy for Best Rock Album. This edition is pressed on clear EcoRecord vinyl, made from recycled plastic.
After three huge albums, Coldplay wanted to shake things up, so they called in Brian Eno. Working with him and Markus Dravs, they swapped some of their piano-ballad comfort for strings, timpani, Spanish-tinged guitars and more adventurous song structures, with a cover painting borrowed from Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People.
"Viva la Vida" with its marching strings and bells became a global anthem and won the Grammy for Song of the Year, "Violet Hill" has a fuzzy, almost bluesy guitar riff, "Lovers in Japan" and "Strawberry Swing" are bright and dreamy, and "Lost!" stomps along on a church-organ groove. A career high for the band.
