Coldplay's 2002 second album, home to "Clocks," "The Scientist" and "In My Place," back on clear EcoRecord vinyl.
A Rush of Blood to the Head topped the charts in 12 countries, shipped over 17 million copies and won Grammys for Best Alternative Album and Record of the Year ("Clocks"). Its cover even made it onto a Royal Mail stamp. This reissue is on Coldplay's clear EcoRecord vinyl.
The difficult second album? Not for these guys. Fresh off the surprise success of Parachutes, Coldplay started recording in London, decamped to Liverpool to finish with Ken Nelson, and turned up the guitars and the piano both.
The result was bigger in every sense. That rolling piano figure on "Clocks" became one of the most recognizable riffs of the decade, "The Scientist" made grown adults cry in their cars, and "In My Place" picked up a Grammy of its own. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later put it on its list of 200 definitive albums, and Rolling Stone keeps putting it on its 500 Greatest list. Safe to say Chris Martin and the lads were onto something.
